Booking Hyatt All Inclusive Property Awards
Mommy Points wrote a great post today about using points to book into Hyatt’s new all inclusive properties. Currently Hyatt only has two all inclusive properties with one being in Cancun and the other in Cabo San Lucas, but they are opening more properties in Jamaica soon.
In her post, she explained how you can actually book these properties with points. Unlike all of their other hotels, award redemptions for all inclusives cannot be made online unfortunately. This is most likely because the price varies depending on the number of people in the room.
Her post was a reminder for me to share something I haven’t seen written about before. I am planning an upcoming trip with my wife for her birthday and one of the places on the short list is Cabo San Lucas. Since I am on the Diamond Challenge and Points + Cash bookings count towards my nights needed, I naturally wondered if this was an option for the Hyatt Ziva all inclusive property there.
Hyatt All Inclusives With Points + Cash
The Hyatt Ziva costs 20,000 points per night for two people, so I had hoped the price was similar to a category 5 property for Points + Cash. A Hyatt Category 5 property normally costs 20,000 points per night, but with Points + Cash it is 10,000 points + $125.
After calling into the Diamond line, I realized it was a good question when the agent didn’t know the answer. To find out she went into the system and looked at all of the booking options. Unfortunately Points + Cash wasn’t one of them.
Conclusion
Points + Cash and all inclusive properties are new concepts for Hyatt, with both having only been introduced less than a year ago. Hopefully they will eventually allow Points + Cash booking on all inclusive properties, but at this time it isn’t allowed unfortunately.
