Hyatt Expands List of Hotels That Don’t Accept Suite Upgrade Awards
Hyatt has quietly updated the list of properties where Suite Upgrade Awards cannot be used, adding two new hotels to the exclusion list. While Suite Upgrade Awards remain one of the most valuable perks in the World of Hyatt program, they’re not accepted at every property, and that list continues to grow.
The latest additions include:
- Alila Napa Valley
- Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman
These join a lengthy list of properties where Suite Upgrade Awards aren’t accepted, including certain Park Hyatt, Andaz, Alila, Thompson, Hyatt Centric and all-inclusive resorts, along with entire brands such as Hyatt Place, Hyatt Studios, Caption by Hyatt and Destination by Hyatt Residences.
Suite Upgrade Awards allow eligible World of Hyatt members to confirm a standard suite at the time of booking for stays of up to seven nights. They can be used on eligible paid stays and points bookings.
However, they’re only valid at participating hotels, and Hyatt continues to maintain an exclusion list that has gradually expanded over the years. It’s getting to the point where we should start compiling a list of the few eligible properties that are left.
Conclusion
Hyatt’s Suite Upgrade Awards are still among the best elite benefits offered by any hotel program, but the growing list of excluded properties is disappointing.
