Hyatt Unbound Third Night Free

Earlier this week Hyatt launched their new “Unbound Collection” which is a re-branding of four existing properties. Each of these properties doesn’t fit into a traditional Hyatt brand, so they will be allowed to keep their names and existing character while benefiting from the Hyatt Gold Passport program. I covered all of the details earlier this week.

To celebrate the launch of this collection, Hyatt is going to offer the third night free to Gold Passport guests who stays in three of the four properties. (The fourth historic Hawaii property has yet to open.)

The properties are:

  • Driskill in Austin, TX
  • Hotel Du Louvre in Paris, France
  • Carmelo Resort & Sap in Carmelo, Uruguay

The Offer

Stay three nights from April 1 through June 30, 2016, and get the third night free – exclusively for Hyatt Gold Passport members. Request offer code FREE3.

Key Terms

  • Offer valid for reservations booked between March 3, 2016 and June 28, 2016 for stays between April 1, 2016 and June 30, 2016 at Carmelo Resort & Spa, a Hyatt Hotel, Hotel du Louvre and The Driskill.
  • Reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance.
  • Guest must request offer code FREE3 at the time of reservation and pay The Unbound Collection by Hyatt introductory promotion rate.
  • Offer not valid for groups or conventions and may not be combined with other promotional offers.

Analysis

It is a shame that this promotion doesn’t start until April because I am going to be in Paris in a few weeks and likely would have taken advantage. Either way, this seems like a nice deal, although it is very limited geographically. It is also important to make sure the promotional rate isn’t jacked up. In the few searches I performed, the promotional rate was about $10 higher per night, but with the third night free the average was significantly cheaper under this promotion.

If only the Coco Palms Resort in Hawaii was already open, then I would be tempted to hop on a plane!

  1. Anyone smelling a devaluation yet or hotels changing categories? Every program is doing it.

Hopefully they have this off again as they add more properties to this new
    Brand

  2. Been a longgggggg time — a year — since Hyatt had any sort of decent, interesting promotion on for their much forgotten loyal customers…. (and I doooo generally like the hyatt brand…. even the lower tier hotels always good stays)

But again, no promos of any consequence — no rebate promos for credit card holder; no accelerate anything.

This promos is about as narrow and useless (for 99% of us) as they come. What is it with Hyatt? Is business THAT good that they feel no need to do promos anymore?

Shawn, why didn’t you mention that — the lack of promos? This doesn’t cut it, sorry.

    • I agree that Hyatt promos have generally not been good the past year. I was just covering this as a standalone deal and wasn’t purposely leaving out the lack of other decent promos. I think the last great deal was the 20% off awards for Hyatt cardholders from last year.

  3. Some blackout dates too. i.e. for the Paris property: “HGP BRAND MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT OFFER Stay 2 nights get 3rd night free Booking Date: 03MAR16-28JUN16 Stay Date: 01APR16-30JUN16 Blackout Date: 16MAY16-20MAY16; 04JUN16-05JUN16; 10JUN16-11JUN16; 13JUN16-17JUN16”

Austin: “Stay 2 nights get 3rd night free Stay Date: 01APR16-30JUN16 Blackout Date: 01APR16-02APR16, 07APR16-09APR16, 15APR16-16APR16, 22APR16-23APR16, 28APR16-29APR16, 19MAY16-21MAY16, and 03JUN16-06JUN16 Cannot book back to back 3 night minimum and maximum length of stay”

Carmelo: “Stay 2 nights get 3rd night free – Valid Date: 01APR16-30JUN16 Cannot book back to back” But on searches I often find the rate unavailable at this property.
