IHG Rewards Accelerate Promo for Q1 2018
IHG Rewards Club Accelerate promo is here again for the first quarter of 2017. This is a great way to earn a nice chunk of points if you get a decent offer. During the Accelerate Promotion IHG gives you a targeted set of tasks and you earn a set number of bonus points for completing them.
How does it work?
1. Sign up for Accelerate.
2. Book and stay at any of your favorite IHG® hotels from January 1 to April 30.
3. Earn bonus points to use for great rewards.
You can sign up for the latest promotion and each Offer must be completed between 1 January 2018 and 30 April 2018 . Let’s take a look at the offers that I see.
My Offer
This is what I see when I register for the promotion. An offer that would get me 34,000 IHG points with 18 nights stayed. Below that is another better offer I found.
Conclusion
As you can see, the promotions vary greatly. The first one requiring 18 stays for only 36,000 points is laughable, but the second has a nicer bonus, still not great. I certainly wouldn’t be switching travel plans and I highly doubt anyone else will. It could be great for anyone who already has stays with IHG planned.

I can get 34,000 pts for a weekend (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun) stay at a Holiday Inn and another 1 night stay at a Holiday Inn. So two stays, 3 nights at a Holiday Inn and I get 34,000 pts. Is it worth it? The 3 nights would probably cost me ~$300. Could potentially use the points at Intercontinental in Times Square or Boston in the next couple of years.
Probably not unless you were planning on staying there anyway. The points are probably only worth around $200-225.
