New Increased Offers for Amex Platinum, Gold and Blue Cash Preferred
Today, American Express is introducing increased welcome bonuses for new Card Members across Blue Cash Preferred, Gold and Platinum Cards. These are offers that we have seen in the past and even recently, but they are now publicly available. These bonuses can usually be found through referrals as well, and that could be the best way to go. So let’s take a look at the new offers.
The Offers
Beginning today, when new American Express Card Members sign-up for the below Cards, they will receive new and exclusive limited-time welcome offers.
-
Blue Cash Preferred® Card: Earn $300 back when you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first 6 months of Card Membership. $300 will be received in the form of a statement credit. Also, $0 introductory annual fee in your first year, then $95 per year fee. Full offer terms can be found here.
-
American Express® Gold Card: Earn 60,000 Membership Rewards points when you spend $4,000 on purchases in your first 6 months of Card Membership. Full offer terms can be found here.
-
The Platinum Card®: Earn 75,000 Membership Rewards points when you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months of Card Membership. Full offer terms can be found here.
Analysis
These are good offers for all three cards. They have been available recently either through referrals or when opening links with a clean browser. Now they are publicly available, so that makes it easier to apply.
However, it is still best to go through a referral link. If someone can refer you, that friend or family member can earn up to 30,000 Membership Rewards points in some cases. That’s a huge added bonus. Even if you do not see the same offers through referrals, an added 30K will still get you more points in total.
Conclusion
It’s good to see these offers publicly available, but if you have a referral link that earns a 30K referral bonus, you should use it to apply for the American Express card you want most. Even lesser referrals for 20K or 15K could make sense.
