Is Chase Matching The Sapphire Reserve Offer
Could you imagine if a 150K Chase Sapphire Reserve offer came out 3 or 4 years ago. The internet would have shut down! There is no doubt that people have cooled on the card since the refresh, but that is still a pretty tempting offer. However, it may be an annoying offer if you recently signed up. There is nothing worse than grabbing a card days before the offer gets supersized after all. I know people have been wondering, is Chase matching the Sapphire Reserve offer? It was a popular question in the MTM Facebook Group over the last week. We now have some clarity on that answer.
Chase Is Matching The Higher Sapphire Reserve Offer For Some
In the past, Chase was super generous with matching increased public welcome offers. Sometimes going back like 6 months. Usually the cut off was 90 days in the past though. They have been more stingy lately, and have often denied matching on co-branded cards.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve is their flagship product though, so there was hope they would match this offer. Well, they have – kind of at least. They are matching the offer in a very tight window:
- Anyone who applied on 4/20 and beyond should be approved for a match
- Anyone who applied on 4/19 or earlier has been denied so far
Doctor of Credit reports that the results are the same across chat and calling in. Sometimes, in the past, one avenue seems to produce better results over the other. It looks like that is not the case this time.
Matching Higher Welcome Offers: Final Thoughts
Something is better than nothing, but I wish I had better news. Chase only matching people that signed up within the last 10 days is a wild cut off. I would think they would at least go back a month if they were going to match the offer. Hopefully this news helps out at least a few of you. Let us know if Chase matches your Sapphire Reserve card offer down below or in the MTM Facebook Group. Let’s hope this isn’t a sign of things to come with future sign up bonus matches too.
