JCPenney & Petco Amex Offers & Why You Need to Automate
Monday mornings in November are an exciting time. While Amex Offers can be released at other times, it seems that the majority of offers are released late Sunday and early Monday. Last night American Express released five new offers. The best one, a $100 back with $300+ Dell deal, has already died, but there are still four that can be loaded. Let’s take a look.
Petco Amex Offer

Maximizing
In the past, I have had success buying gift cards through a portal and getting a payout, although I don’t know if that is still working. Since these cards aren’t profitable for reselling, I’ll be hoping for a Black Friday/Holiday gift card promotion to juice up the offer a bit more.
JCPenney Amex Offer
The Offer
Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your connected Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more transactions by 12/31/16.
Key Terms
- Valid in-store and online.
- Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories.
- Not valid for e-gift card purchases.
- Excludes corporate gift card purchases.
- Not valid at outlet locations.
You can find the full details and terms of the offer here.

Maximizing
Last year JCPenney had a similar Amex Offer. They also ran a cool promotion during the holidays where you would get a $10 off $10 coupon for every $50 in gift cards purchased. As you can imagine we got quite a few of those and then sold the gift cards. Rates are a bit low to resell right now, but if they come out with another gift card deal, you could probably do pretty well for your own purchases.
Other Offers
Here are a couple of other offers that became available today:
- Boxed Amex Offer – Spend $50 and get $15 back. Load by tweeting #AmexBoxed. Details and terms here.
- Drybar Amex Offer – Spend $100 and get $20 back. Load by tweeting #AmexDryBar. Details and terms here.
Syncing Your Offers Is So Important
This morning I woke up to the realization that these offers were released overnight. I also found out quickly that the Dell offer had already died while I was sleeping. Thankfully I have most of my accounts automated and thus was able to receive the offer on a lot of cards, but I know some of you must have missed it.

Conclusion
I still suspect that we will see many more offers come over the couple of weeks, so I highly suggest everyone gets their cards in order so they can maximize the best ones. For me the JCPenney and Petco offers will provide some opportunity if they hold similar promotions as last year and the Dell offer which basically gives 33% off will be very lucrative.
