  1. I’m thankful for world economic trends that have led to the rapidly decreasing price of genomic sequencing which will soon enable stunning breakthroughs in human disease prevention and reversal in the coming decade!

  2. I am thankful I have not spent any time this season wasting my life with the Bengals who did their usual choke tonight. As this was the first game I watched all year, I am glad to have only wasted one evening.

  3. I am Thankful that all of my family is here to celebrate the holidays with me. Everyone is well and we have a roof over our heads and plenty of food to eat.

  7. I am thankful for my dear wife and darling daughter and that we were able to give her a joyful and delightful Christmas.

  8. I’m thankful for so many things. With only three days left before my life-partner arrives for a visit, I’m going to have to go with her :-). We met when neither of us were “looking,” when we were much more inwardly focused. Since May, we have grown into a beautiful, deep, playful, inspiring “muy serio!” (she’s from Spain/Catalunia–very serious) relationship, and I continue to fall fall fall in love with her, many times a day. And I’ll see her in three days!!! (I would gift her the Kindle!) // And grateful for your blog–gracias!

  9. I am so thankful for my family. We had a great time on Christmas with my mom, dad, brother, husband and our 2 wonderful little boys. I’m very blessed that they are healthy and happy!

  13. I am grateful for so much. Firstly, I am grateful
for good health. Living in a world where I am fortunate
enough to live my life with relative freedom provides
me with a great deal of humility. I only hope that
others in the world will have such freedoms, both civil and financial
and that one day freedom will not be limited to the First World.
I am grateful that I will be taking a 1 year sabbatical
next year and will be studying and traveling.
I am grateful for all of my family and friends who support
    me in my life’s journey.

  14. In the last four years I’ve been treated for cancer, diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and suffered through six compression fractures of the spine. I’m grateful I spent Christmas afternoon at the Plaza del Toros in Cali, Colombia, watching six bulls get it a lot worse than I have. At least, so far.

  15. I am thankful that 5 days with the in-laws went as smoothly as can be expected — and I am thankful that it’s over!

  16. Thankful for all the positive developments in 2014 and also for being able to spend the holidays in Thailand once more with friends and family.

  17. I am thankful for my wonderful family, with whom I just enjoyed a week-long cruise and a few days touring Miami. I’m also thankful for the travel strategies I learn through your musings and the $2000 in Southwest vouchers we earned from being bumped in Atlanta on the way back! Best of the season to all!
