Living Social Dining Program Bonus

Living Social Dining Program Bonus

Earlier today PDX Deals Guy sent over to me an email he received for Living Social’s interesting new dining program called Restaurants Plus. For now it is only available in five cities, although anyone can sign-up.

Here are the cities currently available:

  • Atlanta
  • Los Angeles
  • San Diego
  • San Francisco
  • Washington, D.C

How It Works

Restaurants Plus will work just like other dining programs we have seen. First, you link a credit card to the program and then you use it to pay for your meal using the linked card. After dining you will receive a rebate of up to 30% of the total depending on the restaurant.

Most mileage dining programs are run by the Rewards Network and thus don’t stack together. Since Rewards Plus is run by Living Social partnering with Mogl, it appears that it might be possible to “double dip” rewards if a restaurant appears on a mileage dining program along with the Living Social program.

Get $20 for Signing Up

Living Social Dining Program Bonus

If you sign-up through someone’s referral link you will receive $20 for free towards your first dine. Basically they give you 100% back on your first dine up to $20.  The person who referred you will also receive $20 free after you complete your first dine.

Here is my referral link if you would like to sign-up.

I have already signed up and linked the card I most often use at restaurants. Hopefully they will roll this out to more cities, but for now if I am in an available city I will plan to use the service to get my $20 free for signing up and also to test it out.

Refer-A-Friend

Once you have signed up it is very easy to refer someone else and get $20 of your own. Here is how Living Social describes the referral program and how it works:

“Every time a friend signs up with your invite code, they’ll earn 100% cashback on their first meal (up to $20). Once they’ve dined, you’ll get $20 credited to your account!”

You can find your referral link in your account after sign-up.

Conclusion

While this might have limited appeal for those outside of the launch markets, I think it has the potential to be a nice program, especially considering the possibility of double dipping. Living Social’s partner Mogl has been around awhile but I have never used the service. Does anyone have experience with them? Let us know in the comments and thanks in advance if you decide to use my referral link.
