Loungaroo Review: The Sweatshirt Made For Frequent Flyers

If you remember I wrote an article a few months back about the QuickFlip sweatshirt.  I called it the one garment that every traveler should get.  Well it appears there may be two garments that every traveler should own because I would put the Loungaroo sweatshirt right up there with the QuickFlip.  The cool thing is they each serve their purpose which you will see in my Loungaroo review.

Details on Loungaroo

Eric, the owner of Loungaroo, was at the Chicago Seminars last month and was giving out samples for people to test out.  Shawn and Bethany at Bougie Miles got their hands on one and absolutely loved it.  I had left early on Sunday and I wasn’t able to grab one so I reached out to Eric after I got home and he was willing to send me a sample to give it a test run.  I have used it on two different trips now and love it. Bethany and I may have both worn it during our trip to Las Vegas for our reader appreciation event 🤣.

The sweatshirt is aimed at travelers and they thought of pretty much everything really.  Here are some of the features of the sweatshirt:

Pricing

The cost of the Loungaroo hoodie is $79.99.  But we secured a code for Miles to Memories readers that they can get 15% off with the code MTM. The Black Friday code is just BLACKFRIDAY.

But it gets even better than that, Eric told me that he is having a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale where you can get 25% off the price.  The sale will be going November 29-December 2 so be sure to hold off till then to purchase.  If you don’t see this until after the sale is complete then the 15% off code should still work for you.

You can also buy it on Amazon for $59.99

Shipping Details

Loungaroo offers free shipping within the United States which is awesome.  I ordered mine on October 28th and it was delivered on November 1st.  It came a lot quicker than I thought it would and there were tracking updates emailed to me from Loungaroo throughout the process and one to even say that it was delivered.

My Loungaroo Review

After having taken the sweatshirt on a few flights I would say it is my go to flight garment going forward.  The material is stretchy, comfortable and it doesn’t really wrinkle, which is a must since it can be turned into a pillow.

Travel Pillow & Sweatshirt In One

I have never been a travel pillow person and the Loungaroo didn’t really change my mind there.  If you are a travel pillow person I think you will really love that aspect.  I plan on trying it more on my overnight flight to Kyiv in a few months and see if it changes my mind.  I do like that it has the band to hold it in place or to use as an eye cover while using the pillow.  That is pretty genius! The hood being over-sized is nice for anyone who doesn’t use pillows much, like me, because you can pull it over your eyes to have it act like an eye mask.

Airline cabins often get cold so it is nice to have the option to turn it back into a sweatshirt if you get cold.  Then you can turn it into a pillow when you get warm.  It should always be useful.

The Pouch Pocket

I like wearing it while traveling because of the pouch.  It took me a few tries to get used to the zipper since it has to work both ways when turning into a pillow but the pocket is amazing.  You have the normal hoodie pocket to put your hands in but the pouch is something extra. The zipper makes it secure to keep your valuables in and there is even an extra RFID pocket.  The RFID pocket is also a great place for cash since it is double secure. The best part though is that the pouch is uuuugggeee.  It can really hold a ton of stuff.  Like multiple water bottles ton of stuff.  That makes it a great option for walking around a city.  It keeps your hands free and your valuables safe.

Everything Else

I have always loved thumb holes on sweatshirts so that gets a big thumbs up from me (pun intended). It has a loop to hook the Loungaroo to your bag when in pillow mode and it easily fits on the handle of your roller bag too.

I think pretty much everyone uses wireless headphones so the wire hole doesn’t do a ton for me but if you still have wires it could be useful.

If comfort is what you want the Loungaroo fits the bill.  The material is smooth and comfortable and not heavy at all.  It is almost like Under Armor thermal gear but thicker and not tight. It is kind of amazing really.

QuickFlip vs Loungaroo

When comparing the QuickFlip and the Loungaroo I think they both serve their purpose.  I think of Loungaroo as my go to travel gear when in transit.  The QuickFlip is more of my go to when I have boots on the ground and am exploring.  I think they are both very useful and I plan to travel with both often.

Final Thoughts

I can’t thank Eric enough for giving me one to test run.  The Loungaroo is going to have a pretty permanent place in my carry on bag going forward.  Hopefully I can talk him in to giving us a few to give away at our New Orleans meet up 😁.

I do think the $80 price tag is a little high (I rarely spend that much on any clothing though 😂) but with the 25% off happening this weekend I think $60 is definitely worth it.  The free shipping is nice as well.

Let me know in the comments if you already have one or if you are thinking of getting one come Friday!

  1. The BF 25% discounted price isn’t showing on their website, even with your link, is there a special code? Nice they offer Paypal for 5x CF!

  2. That’s pretty cool. I’m curious, and I don’t think you said, how does it look while wearing with a bunch of stuff in the pouch? Does it make it look like you have a spare tire or does it conceal well?

    • It also depends on what it is. If it is bulky and heavy it will sag and show more. But if it is pretty light like a phone, wallet & charger you wouldn’t be able to tell there is anything in there really.

  3. You think pretty much everyone uses wireless headphones?! You probably need to get out of your own world more often…

    • I think most frequent travelers, who the sweatshirt is aimed at, use wireless headphones. Newer phones don’t have headphone jacks etc. So it is going more and more that route and wired headphones will soon be obsolete. Not sure where the issue is.
