Marriott Adds All-Inclusive Resorts in Playa del Carmen
Marriott is expanding its all-inclusive presence in Mexico with an agreement to bring three Playa del Carmen resorts into its Tribute Portfolio Hotels brand.
The deal between Marriott International and The Reef Resorts & Spa includes The Reef Playacar Beachfront Resort & Spa, The Reef 28 Adults-Only Luxury Hotel & Spa, and The Reef Coco Beachfront Resort & Spa. Together, the three properties will add 676 rooms to Marriott’s all-inclusive portfolio.
Renovations are expected to begin later this year, with all three resorts scheduled to join Marriott’s portfolio in 2027. This will also mark the debut of the Tribute Portfolio brand in Playa del Carmen.
The Reef Playacar Beachfront Resort & Spa currently has 198 rooms, along with two pools, a beach club, spa and several dining options. The adults-only Reef 28 has 120 suites near Fifth Avenue, while The Reef Coco currently has 198 rooms and is expected to expand to 358 rooms in early 2028.
Once converted, the resorts will participate in Marriott Bonvoy, giving members additional options for earning and redeeming points at all-inclusive properties in the Riviera Maya.
