Marriott Offers Off-Peak Pricing Worldwide and Elite Night Credits
Last year Marriott introduced peak and off-peak award pricing. While this is generally not good news, it’s proving to be the opposite right now, thanks to a promotion announced today. Many Marriott properties, and most other hotels for that matter, have an occupancy even lower than normal off-peak times. So Marriott is offering off-peak rates at most of their hotels worldwide. Additionally, most Bonvoy members also get more elite nights.
Off-Peak Pricing
All members can book at off-peak redemption rates from June 15 to June 30, with stay dates through July 31. The off-peak redemption rates are available on over 5,500 properties across the Marriott portfolio. Redemptions start at just 5,000 points.
This chart shows the points you’ll need for different rates based on the hotel category. If you redeem four nights you get the fifth night free.
Hotel Category | Off Peak | Standard | Peak |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 5,000 | 7,500 | 10,000 |
2 | 10,000 | 12,500 | 15,000 |
3 | 15,000 | 17,500 | 20,000 |
4 | 20,000 | 25,000 | 30,000 |
5 | 30,000 | 35,000 | 40,000 |
6 | 40,000 | 50,000 | 60,000 |
7 | 50,000 | 60,000 | 70,000 |
8 | 70,000 | 85,000 | 100,000 |
Bonus Elite Night Credits
Given the disruption in travel plans for so many this year, Marriott is giving elites a head start towards achieving the next status level by depositing 50% of the Elite Night Credits, based on your 2019 earned elite status tier. The credits will hit your account in late July.
This means that:
- Silver Elite members get 5 bonus elite nights
- Gold Elite members get 13 bonus elite nights
- Platinum Elite members get 25 bonus elite nights
- Titanium Elite members get 38 bonus elite nights
- Ambassador Elite members get 50 bonus elite nights
Marriott has already extended he status of Bonvoy members through February 2022. But with these credits and up to 30 credits you can receive from Marriott cards, it is now easier to reach the next level.
Conclusion
This is a generous offer from Marriott, and one that makes sense for both the hotel chain and Bonvoy members. Keep in mind that you need to book by June 30 and stay through July 31 to get the off-peak pricing. Those dates are not ideal, but even if travel outside the country might not be feasible, there are many properties closer to home for those who are comfortable traveling.
Marriott has also extended points expiration and Free Night Awards.

even if it came thru & everyone is platinum, that means deval coming; i remembered 2 yrs ago based on what they’ve been doing everyone had high hopes for what merger will bring then we all got Bonvoyed!
I wasn’t aware of these bonus nights being credited. I am a Gold Elite now, and have 2 credit cards, so does this mean I am getting 30 nights for the 2 cc’s and 13 more as well – so I will have 43 nights when these get posted in July ?? I will def go for Platinum if that is the case.
Just got the email from Marriott right now. I actually thot Platinum got free lounge access – but I guess it does not. So the benefits of Platinum over Gold is not a whole lot. Free lounge access can save a lot of money on breakfast and even dinner depending on the spread that they put out.
You can get 30 ENCs if you have both a personal AND a business Bonvoy credit card.
Correct – that is what I have. With the extra 13 they are giving I will already have Platinum status as I went to Aruba in Jan on free nights for 6 nights as well as a couple of other nights. But Platinum is not lounge access – so not a lot of benefits increases moving up from Gold
One needs to remember that this is Marriott, all promises are made with one hand behind their back and fingers crossed. Unfortunately, too many broken promises, it will take more than one good gesture to regain my trust or money.
