Membership Rewards To Delta Air Lines Update: It Is NOT Going Away
Earlier this morning we had a story about how there were rumors swirling that Delta Air Lines would be leaving the Membership Rewards program later next month. That started with some people claiming that they were getting a pop up mentioning the partnership ending when doing a transfer to Delta. Then this was located in the Membership Rewards earning card’s terms:
The two put together seemed like it had some truth to the rumor. Everyone was of course skeptical because of the partnership that Delta and Amex have. One that has made the Delta cards the most popular cards in the American Express portfolio and also is estimated to make Delta $7 Billion before 2023.
I reached out to Amex on Twitter for clarification. They said the partnership was not ending but have yet to tell me what the terms where specifically talking about. It is believed it is a part of the Private Jet program that is ending, but that has a separate header so no one knows for sure. And if it is the person that laid out the terms did a really terrible job putting it together.
I will update if they ever let me know what these terms were intended for. Dave at Milestalk also was able to confirm with his Amex contact that the transfer partner is not going away.
This is good news. I know a few people commented that Delta was their go to for domestic travel and with the Schwab Platinum devaluation they are getting the double whammy. At least one of the two is business as usual.

I just used the “clear” perk with Delta’s pricing to make sure in case the partnership goes away
With Delta’s laugh-so-hard-that-you-cry pricing it’s tough to get excited about this. Better more options than less I suppose.
They can still be useful domestically at times but overall it is on the lower end of value for sure.
Great news! Thanks for the update.
Glad it all worked out!
