The new IHG Point Breaks hotels will be released on Tuesday 5/26/15 for booking through July 31, 2015. For those that don’t know, Point Breaks are hotels that will only cost 5,000 points per night during the promotional period. IHG sent out a small preview of the properties that will be available during this next round.

Preview list:

  • InterContinental® hotel Nha Trang, Vietnam
  • Crowne Plaza® hotel New Delhi Mayur Vihar Noida, India
  • Holiday Inn® hotel Andorra, Europe

  • Holiday Inn Express® hotel Frankfurt-Messe, Germany, Europe

Wow! If these are the 7 properties they chose for the preview, I can’t imagine how terrible the list is going to be!

10% Off Hotel Tonight

miles to memories roundup

As any long time reader of the site knows, I use Hotel Tonight (my review) from time to time. They aren’t always the cheapest, but there have been times I have saved significant money like on my recent Riviera stay or in Washington DC last year.

Through 5/25/15 Hotel Tonight is offering an additional 10% off of stays of 2 or more nights ($100 minimum). To get the discount simply use the code MEMORIALDAY. If you are new to Hotel Tonight, you can use my personal referral code SCOOMER2 to get a $25 credit as well. (Every member has their own referral code.)

Posts that Caught my Eye

Here are a couple of posts from today that I found interesting:

Membership Rewards vs. Ultimate Rewards vs. ThankYou Rewards. Which is best?

A great comparison of the three main flexible points currencies and which one is best for each type of situation. Flexible points currencies can really be confusing, since each one has different values and transfer partners. This helps to sort through the noise.

The BRG Experiments 2.0

Best rate guarantees can be an awesome way to get a free stay. For example, I got a $250+ plus room at the Crowne Plaza Changhi last year for free! I was so excited. The only issue is they take time to find. Sometimes a lot of time. This post is all about pushing the limits of best rate guarantees. Not for all, but the thrill of the hunt can be exciting for some.

  1. You know, all of these gift card arbitrage offers are making me more and more out of shape!

I wake up in the morning and am ready to exercise and get my day going…..until I look in my email and see this deal is active! Of course, I know if I wait until this afternoon they’ll all be gone. Soooo, I spend the next hour buying gift cards on two ebay accounts, triple/quadruple dipping etc along the way.

Capped out Sears, Cabelas, TGIF and Hyatt for both ebay accounts. My bulk status saveya account is coming in handy for the Sears cards with the ach payout and $4k/30 day limit. Going to give me reason to apply for abcgiftcards and cardpool bulk seller status.

Do you personally have any experience w/ either abcgiftcards or cardpool bulk seller application process? I have a friend who told me cardpool is a one time $5k requirement but afterward approval there is no minimum amount per month. I know raise.com has a monthly minimum, but for now my aim is saveya, cardpool and abcgiftcards.

I was tempted to buy the other day from cardcash but held off. They had money maker on the Petco gift cards. However, I’ve read a nightmare amount of issues with cardcash. What’s funny is I believe abcgiftcards is the same company, which I’ve have zero issues with.

      • Why didn’t you follow through w/ Cardpool?

Saveya was relatively easy, although it took a while for them to complete the process. Save yourself some grief and use incognito mode if you’re using Chrome (for whatever reason the application is temper-mental).

What other sites are you/will you try for w/ bulk? ABC gift cards seems like another viable choice.

        • I might eventually. Saveya is definitely taking forever which kind of stinks. I’m not sure which others. I’ll figure it out as I go to see which ones have the best rates.
