Miles to Memories roundup

Posts That Caught My Eye

Amex freezes Bluebird and Serve cardholders off-schedule

It seems most of the people affected by this latest round of shutdowns had opened new accounts after they had been shutdown previously. One reader told me he had a three month old Serve shutdown as well. It is clear that Amex hasn’t forgotten about these shutdowns and that they will occur regularly. As I have said before, Bluebird/Serve are no longer viable long term methods for MS.

Argentina Visa Reciprocity Fee Suspended for American Citizens

This is good news for those looking to go to Argentina. More importantly I think this will be good for tourism for the country. While it stinks that the U.S. charges so much to foreigners, I think countries are hurting themselves by instituting these reciprocity fees. Between this development and Brazil’s temporary fee waiver this Summer for the Olympics, I think it might be time to head south of the Equator!

Bank of America Free FICO Score is Now Available for Many

The more ways we can see our credit score the better! This isn’t yet working on mine or my wife’s accounts, but I’m glad they are rolling this out. I think we are slowly moving towards a time when everyone will freely know their scores. That sort of empowerment is great for consumers.

Great Deals

  • As I covered this morning, eBay has a ton of gift card deals. Some people have also been targeted with 10% back in eBay Bucks. More info here.
  • Groupon is offering 25% off up to 3 local deals through tonight with the code BIG25

Have a great evening!
