Most Searched Destinations Around the World
As travel rebounds and more countries are dropping entry restrictions and COVID-19 rules in general, Bounce has compiled a list of some of the most sought after destinations.
The list includes the most popular cities and countries to travel to, according to Google searches for flights, hotels, and vacations in the last 12 months, to reveal each country’s top travel destinations.
Ranking in first place in most countries, is a destination popular with many points and miles hobbyists, the Maldives. Several cities in the US, such as Las Vegas, New York, and Miami also make the list.
Top Country
The Maldives island is one of the most luxurious travel destinations in the world, with its gorgeous and endless beaches and amazing summer weather almost year-round.
As the top country travel destination in the world, there have been 2,457,200 Google searches in the last year for flights, hotels, and vacations to the Maldives. India ranks second with 1,478,300 Google searches, and Singapore is third with 1,224,500 searches.
The Maldives also ranks as the favorite country vacation spot in nine countries including the USA, France, and Finland. Malta was the favorite destination for four countries, including the UK and Germany.
Top Cities
When it comes to cities, Las Vegas is in the first place as the most popular travel destination in the world. With its numerous casinos, nightclubs and more, “Sin City” draws millions of visitors from the United States and all over the world. In the last twelve months, there have been 9,688,600 Google searches worldwide for flights, hotels, and vacations to Las Vegas.
New York, home to the Met Museum, Central Park, and Empire State Building, ranks second. In the last year, there have been 8,743,600 total worldwide Google searches for flights, hotels, and vacations to New York. Miami takes the third sport with 6,528,700 Google searches.
Miami also ranks in first place for Google searches related to flights, hotels, and vacations in eight countries, including Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, and Ecuador. Dubai is the top destination in seven countries, including Poland, Romania, Ukraine, and Ireland. And London and New York are the top searched destination in five countries.
