My Experience with Chase’s Hyatt Offers – What Works?
After Chase torpedoed their Chase Offers program with the Marriott and Slate cards a few weeks ago we thought that would be it for a while. Then only a few weeks later Chase released a new offers system with the Hyatt credit card. This program seemed to be the same as the old version but just with a different card.
My question was would the offers work the same way? I tested one out and wanted to let you know my results.
Lowe’s Offer
The only offer worth much, to me at least, is the Lowe’s offer. The Lowe’s offer gives you a $10 credit after a $50 purchase. The terms exclude gift cards. The old Chase Offers system had the same terms but gift card purchases still worked most of the time.
I decided to give it a try last week and purchased a $50 Amazon gift card. I received an email right away saying I had used the offer, which was a lot smoother than last time!
Last night I received a second email saying I had qualified for the credit and should see it posted to my account within 3-10 business days, success!
Conclusion
It appears that gift cards still work at trigger this offer so now all we need is some good ones to come along. I am hoping for a Staples offer similar to last time.
Have you used any offers with the new system yet? What did you buy?

You mean “Lowe’s gift card” not “Amazon gift card” in the second paragraph.
Nope I mean Amazon – they sell 3rd party gift cards at Lowe’s
Do you think this will this work with purchase of $50 of *any* gift card sold by Lowe’s, e.g. third-party stores, Visa, MC?
I think 3rd party gc will work fine. MC or Visa were kind of hit or miss on the old system.
