Safeway/Albertson’s Visa Gift Card Deal

This morning I was browsing my Von’s app for coupons like I do on most days and I found a pleasant surprise. A new coupon has popped up giving a very good discount on Visa gift cards. Let’s take a look.

The Offer

Save $10 instantly when you buy $100+ in Visa Dining, Explore, Fashion, Fuel, Home or Movie gift cards.

Key Terms

  • Expires 8/7/2018
  • Limit 1

Loading the Offer

This offer comes in the form of a digital coupon that needs to be loaded to your Just4U (Vons, Safeway, Albertson’s, etc.) account. To load the offer:

  • Visit the website of your Just4U brand (ex. Safeway.com)
  • Login to your Just4U account.
  • Click on Just4U on the top left
  • Navigate to the “Special Offers” category and you’ll see the coupon

Maximizing

The best option for maximizing is to use a card that earns a category bonus at grocery stores. You should be able to purchase a $200 variable load card with a $4.95 fee leaving you with a $5 profit plus whatever rewards you earn from a credit card.

Keep in mind that these types of Visas are locked to certain merchants and won’t work everywhere. Make sure you have a plan to use them before purchasing and know which brands will work where you want them to.

Conclusion

The coupon is limited to one-time use only per account, but it still has the potential to be a great way to achieve negative cost spend. It may be worth a visit if you have any of these supermarkets nearby and have a plan to use the cards.

Happy spending!

    • Have no problem with the deal — and thanks for the alert. (in the event I find myself in a part of the country that still has Safeway’s — a chain long a dim shadow of its full reach in the late 70’s)

I do share the consternation over the title CAPS — MAKE $$$$$$
yah, all of $5.00 we learn underneath.
By the title, I thought something really big, really big, was afoot.
now it seems more like Vegas, all blaring lights, little substance.

      • Make isn’t capitalized as it is in your comment and not sure how to spell $ in lower case. I also only used three which is pretty typical. The title is accurate in my mind and we never seek to deceive anyone.

      • Boy, there were some real ignorant tools out in force on Wednesday. Even though I don’t have these stores by me, I do appreciate that these posts aren’t all geared to just ME, ME, ME! And I think the lower case $ is spelled ¢ 🙂
