New Welcome Bonuses for Southwest Cards

New Welcome Bonuses for Southwest Cards

Chase and Southwest announced today new limited-time offers for all three personal credit cards. You can now earn 75,000 miles with each Southwest card. These are not the highest offers we have seen, but this can be a good opportunity for those who need more Southwest points to earn the Companion Pass. Let’s see the details.

Need to Know

Here are some facts about the cards you should know:

  • Southwest points are often worth 1.4 cents each towards airfare. This increased offer is like getting an extra $140 in value.
  • Points earned from these offers DO COUNT towards the Southwest Companion Pass.
  • These cards are known to be subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule.

Eligibility

These products are not available to either:

  • (i) current Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapids Rewards® Credit Card, or
  • (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. This does not apply to Cardmembers of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Business Card and Employee Credit Card products.

Conclusion

These are good offers on all three cards and are especially useful to get the Southwest Companion Pass. The timing is perfect as you should always try to earn the Companion Pass early in the year so you can enjoy the benefits for almost two full years. As a cardholder you get 10,000 qualifying points towards the new increased requirement of 135,000 points.

Although we have seen better bonuses in the past, the spending requirement is lower this time around.
