CLEAR Membership Can Be Paused for 3 Months
CLEAR is a service that uses your eyes and fingerprints to confirm your identity and it can help you breeze through airports, often quicker that TSA PreCheck. It can also be used at some stadiums.
A CLEAR Plus membership is $179 per year. Members can also add up to 3 adult family members to their account for $50/each per year. But right now, those who have paid for a membership are not able to use the benefits it provides. It can be worth contacting CLEAR and ask them to pause your membership.
We’ve heard on one such case when the process was quick and easy. It was initiated by the member who asked to pause the membership since she can not travel. The CLEAR rep offered to pause the membership for three months for now. It could likely be extended even longer if travel restrictions and warnings are still in place by then.
Conclusion
It is a good idea to contact not just CLEAR but also other services that you are paying for such as insurances, gyms, credit card issuers and more. If you are not using a service you have a good reason to ask not to pay until normal activities resume again.
