You Can Rent Shelby Mustangs from Hertz this Summer

You no longer have to settle for a family sedan for your next card rental. Hertz and Shelby American have announced a three-year custom car partnership, kicking off with exclusive 2022 Shelby edition Ford Mustangs. Beginning this summer, this special production run will be available for rent at select Hertz locations across the U.S.

The collection includes Mustang Shelby GT500-H fastbacks modified with 900+ horsepower and Ford Shelby Mustang GT-H fastbacks and convertibles, each created specifically for Hertz.

But these vehicles will not be available at all Hertz locations. The Mustang Shelby GT500-H will be available in Fort MyersLas VegasMiamiOrlandoPhoenix and Tampa only. The Mustang Shelby GT-H convertibles and fastbacks will be available in AtlantaDallasFort LauderdaleFort MyersLas VegasLos AngelesMiamiOrlandoPhoenixSan DiegoSan Francisco and Tampa.

“Hertz and Shelby American have created driving magic again,” said Stephen Scherr, CEO of Hertz. “This partnership has made automotive history many times over the years, and we look forward to future collaborations that will continue to both push limits and delight our customers with exciting cars and experiences.”

Shelby American will complete the cars at its assembly facility in Las Vegas and document them in the official Shelby American Registry. With production limited and exclusively destined for Hertz rental fleets across the country, the special-edition cars will give Hertz customers a truly exclusive driving experience. 1. The only problem is that Hertz will probably not process the return correctly, report it stolen, and you get arrested for grand theft auto,,aside from that, the designs of Carol Shelby are still incredible.

    • Which is a felony arrest. The thing that no one is talking about on any of the blogs is the fact that, in spite of no conviction or even prosecution, the arrest remains on one’s criminal record . . . and when it comes time to renew one’s TSA Pre-Check / Global Entry, one might not be easily renewed. Even if a court expunges the arrest from one’s record, DHS *still* has a record of it. If this happens to someone and the person is denied renewal, one can appeal to the program’s Ombudsman. But, why go through all of that?
Life is easier if one doesn’t rent from Hertz.

      • PS Several years ago in San Francisco, a Hertz renter had called in to say he needed his car an extra day and the same old story unfolded. While in lock-up, his cellmates beat the living poop out of him and knocked out a few teeth. Again, life is easier if one doesn’t rent from Hertz.
