PSA: Scrub Your Swych Gift Card Accounts, Today!

Swych is an app that allowed you to purchase 3rd party gift cards, often at a discount.  They were even earning 5X Ultimate Rewards on some Chase Ink Cards.  Once that ended I started using the service a lot less, and then the good offers kind of dried up.  Well it appears they are now shutting down the service and today is the last day the app will be functioning. So go through your cards and make sure there are no balances left.  I found $125 in gift cards on my account that I never uploaded anywhere or used…well worth the 20 minutes I spent checking everything against my spreadsheets.

Here is the email from Swych:

Dear Swych Member,

As a user of the Swych mobile app, we are reaching out to let you know that on July 31st, 2020, the Swych mobile app will be disabled and no longer supported. This means that you will no longer be able to access the cards you may have stored in the app.

Prior to July 31st, 2020, we recommend that you log into Swych to retrieve all of your card data and store it safely so that the data is available for redemption. You can securely store your gift cards in your Apple Wallet directly from the Swych app or take a screenshot of the card details for future redemption.

Final Thoughts

If you saw the email yesterday and blew it off be sure to give your account the once over.  Don’t be the breakage that makes these gift card deals so profitable to the sellers.  Make sure you get all of your money out.  I took a picture of the gift card with my phone and plan on uploading them for sale today.
