Southwest Extends Schedule Till January 2022
Southwest Airlines releases their schedule in chunks, unlike the more traditional airlines at close to a year out. It can be frustrating at times but when schedules open up it is worth checking for deals. You can now book Southwest flights through April 24, 2022. That means you get about 7 months worth of window to plan! You can check their flight schedules here.
It appears the flights are a little pricey, at least from my few checks. If you have Rapid Rewards points it may be worth booking anyway and locking the prices in. With Rapid Rewards you can easily rebook if the price drops and recoup your points so no reason not to book if you have them in your account. Then periodically check the flight to see if prices drop.

Conclusion
Check out the extended schedule and see if you can find any good deals. Holiday flights are always expensive so it is best to get them locked in early and see how it plays out.

Yeah, the current “sale” doesn’t go past 5 Nov, so a bit pricey, as you said. I always look for my fav trip, SLC-LAS, and try to get it for around $50 each way. Next sale should include DEC and JAN I figure…..
Prices were high across the board for most weekends and really high for Thanksgiving and Christmas. In addition to all the pent up travel demand this year, I am sure Southwest learned that they get a massive spike in bookings the morning that the schedule release, so they use higher initial minimum prices. I booked a few with the RR points I had available without having to transfer from UR, but I am surprised how bad the flight options/times are for Christmas. I am hoping the change trick comes back, since it has already saved so many points this year already for upcoming summer trips!
PLEASE FIX YOUR TITLE! The schedule has only been extended until Oct 30
It has been updated – that was my mistake from when it was extended previously. Missed updating it along with the body.
