Southwest has a new fare sale starting today with prices starting at low as $42 one-way. You’ll find the lowest price on a few routes, but there’s more discounted fares for a bit more. Let’s take a look.
The Offer
Early risers and night owls, this is for you. Save big on flights before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Fares starting from $42 or 1,861 points one-way. Book by August 6, 2017 for:
- Domestic travel valid September 5 through February 14, 2018.
- Domestic travel blacked out November 21-22, November 25-27, December 21-23, December 26-27, December 30-31, 2017, January 1-2, 2018.

- Purchase from August 4 through August 6, 2017, 11:59 p.m. in the respective time zone of the originating city.
- Domestic travel valid September 5 through February 14, 2018.
- Domestic travel blacked out November 21-22, November 25-27, December 21-23, December 26-27, December 30-31, 2017, January 1-2, 2018.
- Domestic travel is valid only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Fares valid on domestic, nonstop service which depart before 7am or after 7pm in the respective time zone of the originating city.
- Fares not available to/from Grand Rapids, Michigan & San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Seats and days are limited. Fares may vary by destination, flight, and day of week and won’t be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods.

Conclusion
These promotions have been frequent lately. This time around there’s a few more options for $42 but the sale is limited to flights before 7AM or after 7PM which is not ideal for many. They usually have good deals if you’re planning travel on any of the listed routes. With a Companion Pass this offer gets significantly better.
If you already booked a flight, check if it’s showing a better price now. You can change your flight and re-book the same exact flight again for a lower price. If you paid cash, you will receive a voucher that may be applied toward future travel on Southwest Airlines. If you used Rapid Rewards, you’ll be refunded the difference into your account.
