Southwest Gifting Some People A-List Status
If you check your Southwest accounts you might see that you have A-List status, but it is not a glitch. Southwest is giving some people the opportunity to get a taste of their A-List perks for six months.
A Southwest representative on FlyerTalk has confirmed that “a select group of Chase Cardmember Customers were targeted for promotional A-List status that was automatically granted through June 30, 2020. If you were targeted for the promotion then letters explaining the change will be sent out starting 1/7/2020. Also, an email to those that subscribe to the RR Email Update will go out on 1/10/2020 letting you know more.”
A-list Benefits
A-list status comes with the following benefits:
- Fly By® priority check-in and security access lanes (where available)
- Dedicated A-List phone line, reserved checkin
- Free same-day standby
- 25 percent earning bonus on all eligible revenue Southwest® flights.
Conclusion
Log in your Southwest account to see if you are targeted. Normally you would need 25 qualifying one-way flights or 35,000 TQPs in a calendar year to earn A-List status. Getting if for free for 6 months is a great way to make your Southwest flights more enjoyable.
