Spending Bonus for Bank of America Cards
If you have a Bank of America credit card, check your emails for a great spending offer that can earn you tons of extra points. BofA has emailed select cardholders an offer to earn an extra 2x points or 2% cashback on every dollar spent till then end of December. And there’s no limit. Let’s look at the details.
The Offer
Now through December 31, 2022 you’ll earn an additional 2 points for every $1 spent on net purchases using your Bank of America credit card. That’s on top of the rewards you’re already earning with no limit to the bonus points you can earn with this offer.
No enrollment is necessary. Simply use your card for purchases to start earning extra rewards.
So far we have seen this offer for the following cards:
- Alaska Airlines card
- Customized Cash Rewards
- Travel Rewards
Key Terms
- Offer only valid for account identified in the email.
- Allow up to 12 weeks after the promotion ends for the promotional points to be added to your account.
- This offer will not apply to any customer bonus or account opening bonus, nor will you receive the Preferred Rewards bonus on the additional 2 points per $1.
- The value of this reward may constitute taxable income to you.
Conclusion
This could be a way to generate lots of extra miles and points, or just plain cashback through the end of the year. You just need to be targeted, and the offer is non transferrable.
If you have this offer on the Alaska Airlines card, you can earn 3x miles on every dollar that you spend for the next 6+ months. The Travel Rewards card already earns 1.5% (up to 2.62% for Preferred Rewards members), so you can now earn 3.5% cashback (or up to 4.62% for Preferred Rewards members) on every dollar you spend.

I might’ve preferred this on other cards, only getting this on an old Travel Rewards card with a low $1k limit. My Travel card looks like to get 1:1, that I have to redeem for travel and dining. So, I’ll have to reallocate some credit lines from another card, and then verify what counts for the redemption options, especially since the extra points don’t get credited until after the end of the year.

I got this on my VS card. Actually not a bad deal. If you spend exactly $25k on the card between now and the end of the year. You’d get 102,500 VS points + a voucher that is good for a free companion ticket or a one class upgrade. I’ll take that.
