Analysis
You can purchase a wide variety of gift cards online at Staples including Visa gift cards. Additionally they also run deals fairly often for discounted gift cards. For example you can currently purchase iTunes gift cards at a discount. These cards can be sold close to breakeven. There is a lot of opportunity with this offer, but do note that it is online only.
Conclusion
This is a very good offer and Staples Amex Offers have been known to go VERY FAST in the past. I highly suggest loading this one as soon as possible to make sure you can get your credits before the end of the year. Happy Amex Offering!

I’m finally getting around to using my Staples.com offers today. I purchased a $50 Groupon e-mail GC and $50 Southwest Air e-mail GC and received the automated “We appreciate you using your Amex Offer at http://WWW.STAPLES.COM” However, the offer language states – “Excludes Staples branded e-gift card” I assume that this means ONLY Staples e-gift cards. But, this could be understood to mean ANY e-gift card sold thru Staples. Could someone confirm that I’m safe with ANY e-gift card that is not Staples.

Can you use this to get e-gift cards for third party merchants? I’d like to save the $2 shipping they tack on if possible.
Yes e-gift cards will work. Basically if you are buying something on Staples.com then it should work. Staples e-gift cards don’t work because they are sold on cashstar.com and not actually from Staples directly.
How long does it take to get the e-gift card? I bought a Macy’s card an hour ago and got order confirmation, but no gift card yet.
It can take up to 24 hours with Staples. They aren’t fast.

Yes everything on the Staples website should qualify. Staples e-gift cards are excluded since they are sold by Cashstar.

Well I posted this last night so perhaps I was a bit tired, but yes this deal has huge potential, especially considering you can load it to all of your cards. Some people have many many many cards.
Don’t forget about using the app to load offers. I saw offers there that don’t show up on my Amex site!
