Targeted $250 TCF Bank Account Mailers Are Back

I got a nice little surprise in my USPS informed delivery email this morning.  If you haven’t signed up for it yet it is pretty cool. Anyways, I noticed a nice fat bank bonus offer in there.  $250 from TCF bank.  TCF bank is a regional bank located in 6 states MN, MI, IL, WI, CO & SD.

This offer came around last year and I was able to get it by calling in even without the mailer.  But that loophole ended last year and I believe they now double check it versus your address.

Details on the Offer

The offer is for a $250 bonus for anyone living at the printed address on the mailer.  There are a few qualifiers:

  • One bonus per household
  • You can not be a current TCF customer or have closed a TCF account within 90 days
  • TCF employees are not eligible

In order to get the bonus one of the following needs to happen within 60 days:

  • $500 direct deposit (some bank transfers have worked in the past)
  • Make one or more bill pays that exceed $250
  • The money will be deposited the following day once the activities are confirmed

The account needs to be opened with at least $25.  This bank pays out quicker than any other one I have dealt with.

Conclusion

This is probably the easiest bank bonus I have ever done.  The account is totally fee free too which is nice, just choose online statements.

Make sure to check your mail if you live in one of the states with a branch.  If you don’t normally chase bank bonuses but get this offer be sure to do it!

Let me know in the comments if you received an offer in the mail.

  1. I got a mailer in January in suburban Chicago. Signed up, deposited $300 and immediately did a $250 payment towards a credit card. 2 days later, the bonus was in my account. Waited 2 weeks and closed the account – quickest posting and easiest bank bonus I’ve ever done.

  2. The only downside is that you have to deal with TCF, one of the smarmiest corporate banks out there. I’d rather not take their dirty money.
