Targeted Offers for American Express Hilton Cards

More Targeted Spending Offers for American Express Hilton Cards

Yesterday mark wrote about a great targeted offer for American Express Hilton credit cards. You could earn as much as 40,000 bonus points. But not everyone received an email.

Now American Express is targeting more people with a similar offer. This one is for a maximum of 20,000 bonus points.

The Offer

Enroll and earn 10,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points after each $1,000 you spend in eligible purchases on your Hilton Honors American Express Card starting from the time you complete enrollment through December 25th, 2018, up to a maximum of 20,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points.

Conclusion

I wasn’t targeted for the 40K bonus offer yesterday, but I received this offer today for my no fee Amex Hilton card. 20,000 Hilton points are worth around $80-100 for most people. That’s about 5% extra on top of whatever your card would earn on that $1,000 spending.

Did anyone else receive this offer today after missing out yesterday?

  1. What does “Spend $1,000 – Earn 10,000 Hilton Honors Base Points” along with “Up to 2 times” mean?

Must I first charge the $1,000 then re-enroll and charge another $1,000 to get the maximum 20,000 Honors Points? Or can I simply charge $2,000 at one time (in one or several transactions) to score the 20,000 points?

I’ve never seen a Bonus Offer worded this way, and I find it extremely confusing. Please enlighten me.

    Thank you,

    Ivy

  2. Hubby got 10k offer today on no fee card. He doesn’t have any other hilton card right now. I got 20k yesterday on my Aspire card. Nothing for my no fee card.

  3. I have both AMEX Hilton Ascend and Aspire. Yesterday, I received the $2K for 20K points (good twice) for $4K spend and 40K points by 12/25. No sweat, and worth a total of 52K points when you get 3X points on the Ascend.

  4. I got the offer today. Nothing yesterday. Currently staying at the Vienna Hilton Garden Inn S for 10,000 point / night incl. breakfast.

  5. Yesterday he got the better offer on the ascend and now my husband just got this on his no fee Hilton, which we do not use regularly. I am planning on taking advantage of the upgrade offer after we close on our new house – time will tell if I get to stack the 2 (150K for $4000 spend and the new annual fee (mitigated by the airline credit and resort credit and free night), plus 20K for the $2000 spend). Looks like that spring break trip to Whistler just got more affordable (now if I can only get a suite upgrade also…will be trying the friendly advance email trick). Still hoping for something on my existing Aspire (which stays in the drawer except for Hilton stays and my airline credit).

  6. I got this one today on my Ascend card. Didn’t get anything yesterday. I have a 10,000 point redemption in February. I’ll be taking advantage of this offer.
