A Great Travel Router for a Great Price

Online electronics retailer Newegg has a fantastic price of just $14.99 on the TP-LINK TL-WR700N Wireless N150 Portable Router. This router is perfect for traveling and it takes up only a very small amount of space.

While WiFi is becoming more widespread, there are still hotels with wired only connections and this is a way to be able to spread those connections to other devices. Also many hotels have much faster wired connections compared to their WiFi.

I really like the fact that the plug is built in to the router, so you don’t have to carry around a power cable. For $15 this makes a terrific traveling companion and even if I only have use for it once in awhile, it will be a useful tool in my arsenal.

To get the deal:

  • Go through a portal to Newegg and earn up to 2% cashback. (Using the code may invalidate cashback, but it doesn’t hurt to try.)
  • Search for TP-LINK TL-WR700N and click on it. (Make sure you click on the $23.99 version as pictured above.)
  • Add the item to your cart and enter the promo code EMCARNW46.
  • The code will drop your price to $14.99 and you can now checkout.

Enjoy!

  1. Any suggestions for a portable router that will receive a wireless signal, parhaps password coded, and relay it to other devices?

  2. Looks like a nice deal. But what kind of hotels are you staying at where you’re finding only wired internet? I think it’s been decades since I’ve run into that problem.

    • In developing countries a lot of hotels still don’t have WiFi or if they do it is only in common areas. Last year in India I ran into a lot of hotels that had in room wired internet but no WiFi. I have also had a number of experiences where in room wired internet is much faster than WiFi.
