TWA Hotel at JFK Will Feature Rooftop Infinity Pool Above the Runway

Passengers flying through New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport will soon be able to experience spectacular views of its runways in a whole new way. One of the most impressive features of the highly-anticipated TWA Hotel will be a rooftop pool that will let you admire the air traffic from up close.

The hotel will have a rooftop infinity pool complete with an observation deck where you can see as far as Jamaica Bay. The pool, which measures 64 feet long (19.5 meters), is said to have been inspired by the infinity edge pool at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes as per CNN. The pool will be open 365 days a year. It will transform into a “pool-cuzzi” during winter. It will feature filtered water can be heated to up to 100 Fahrenheit (37.8 Celsius). Not sure if that will help much during those bitter NYC winters.

Once launched, the TWA Hotel, which can be accessed via the AirTrain, is projected to receive 10,000 customers a day.

  1. A friend of mine lives a few miles from Newark Airport, and has little pellets/beads all over his lawn from either jet fuel or jet exhaust. I don’t think I want to swim in that pool…

  2. I reserved a 2hr slot for May 24, but it’s unclear how much it costs though. I emailed the hotel and the response was “it’s free to reserve.” Is it free?

  3. “…receive 10,000 customers a day.” That would be one crowded pool! Or, too look at it another way, with 512 rooms, that would be 20 per room. 😉 Unless I’m missing something, that last phrase begs for clarification.
