Uber Las Vegas Airport
Uber has announced that they will start operating at McCarran International Airport as of today 12/8/2015. They had been locked in some sort of a dispute over fees and licensing, however that seems to now have been resolved. Per their email:
We’re proud to announce that starting today, travelers can request rides using the Uber app — one of the cheapest transportation options in Las Vegas.
Whether you’re just beginning or ending your journey, you will have access to the reliable, affordable and safe ride you’ve come to love and expect from Uber.
It seems that Uber will operate in the same exact way as Lyft. If you are getting dropped off then they will bring you to the departure area for your airline. If you are getting picked up here is how it works:
Once you’ve collected your bags, open the Uber app and select your terminal.
Terminal 1: Head to Level 2M of the public parking garage.
Terminal 3: Head to the Valet Level of the public parking garage.
Conclusion
Now you have a choice of using Lyft or Uber at the airport. The drivers here tell me they prefer Lyft since they get a bigger cut, so I’ll probably use them more often, but I know there are a lot of Uber fans out there. Keep in mind the prices in Vegas for ridesharing are generally cheaper than taxis, but not that much cheaper! You can find a cost analysis here. Enjoy!
