United 25% Off Awards to Europe
Until June 28, 2016 United is holding an award sale to Europe and the discount is very very good. Normally roundtrip rates cost 60,000 miles, however during the sale they will only cost 45,000. Let’s take a look.

Analysis
While it is probably too late to get a credit card to earn United miles, Ultimate Rewards can be transferred to United, making it fairly easy for many to top off their accounts for a redemption. While the holidays are blacked out and the end date is before Spring Break for most, this is still a decent deal to get to Europe for cheap.
United serves a lot of cities in Europe and I have found their award space, especially in economy is fairly good. In other words, you probably shouldn’t have too much of a problem finding some sort of trip or route that works for you. You can find a full list of United routes to Europe here.
Conclusion
With all of the devaluations we have had to suffer through the past few years, it is good to see some sort of deal from time to time. While many “travel hackers” don’t like to fly in coach, those with families know flying in the back is often required to make a trip work. Luckily if the dates of this promotion fit within your schedule, then a European vacation for 25% cheaper may be on the horizon. Enjoy!

Shawn,
Disagree with the PROMO that it’s a good deal.
United Airlines is confused which cities this is applicable for in Europe and of course nobody answers on this blog much so mediocre promotion.
For 60K miles UA offers roundtrip w/ one stopover to everywhere in Europe it or a partner flies versus this selective cities for 45K award.
Do we know if travel dates that are originally booked then are changed to new ones within the time period to the same city/route will bump back up to the original full saver amount? I’ve called United twice-the first response was that it would remain the same amount paid, the second said that any changes after the 28th will default back to the 60k level. So not sure which is actually true.
I want to book a simple non-stop RT but I may have to move the dates around. But don’t want to do it if they won’t honor the sale. Anyone know for sure?
SImple:
This ticket isn’t for you.
I don’t understand why it’s such a good ticket:
– STopver eliminated
– Numerous cities not participating
Boarding Room has clearly over hyped this special deal.
Can we make a list of airports the fare is valid for?
CDG – Charles de Galle (Paris)
AMS – Schipol (Amsterdam)
I’m bummed I wanted Prague or Munich but fare not valid.
Just got a trip to Amsterdam!! Thank you!
Sadly, I booed a Europe trip only 5 days before the offer came out for pre-sale to United cardholders. I used 60K points. OUCH! I called and tried everything I could think of to get it changed and save 15K points, even cancelling and rebooking. Yeah, I could do that. But only for $200+ so that was out of the question. So if I had known, or waited, etc. Ce la vie!
Definitely a nice discount! Just booked 2 roundtrips DFW-CDG for 90k miles at the end of August which is not too bad considering lowest cash cost was 2 grand for about 2.1 cpp. I’ll take that any day for an economy ticket.
Stopovers do not qualify for this offer.
For an extra 15,000 miles you get a stopover
How good a deal is it?
Travel has to be “completed” by 3-31-17 btw
