United Award Sale, Fly to Tahiti and Australia for 40% Less
United Airlines has launched an award fare sale to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of its MileagePlus program. The airline is offering a 40% discount on roundtrip fares to Tahiti and Australia.
That means that you can fly roundtrip to Tahiti for 42,000 miles. Roundtrip fares to Australia start at just 60,000 miles. Taxes and fees are very reasonable too, starting at $94.25.
In order to take advantage of this deal, you need to book your flight using MileagePlus miles by May 6 and travel between August 15 through December 10. The sale applies to Economy fares.
This sale is currently available to United MileagePlus Cardmembers and Premier members. Everyone else will have access to the sale from May 4-6, 2023.

But it actually works for United flights from any airport in the US. The terms state that the promotion is valid for travel to Australia (BNE, SYD, MEL) from all mainland U.S. airports or to Tahiti (PPT) from all mainland U.S. airports.
Keep in mind that the IAH-SYD route begins October 29, 2023 and LAX-BNE begins November 29, 2023.

This is a big discount and a very cheap option to get to Tahiti or Australia from many airports in the country. There’s great availability too, with 42,000 or 60,000 roundtrip awards on any day during the promotion period.
In order to get this discount you need to book by May 6 and travel between August 15 and December 10. United MileagePlus Cardmembers and Premier members are the only ones who can book for now. Everyone else will have to wait until tomorrow.
