United Restricts Partner Lounge Access
United has made a change to who can access partner lounges. You can no longer access these lounges, even if you have Gold status, unless you are flying in United Polaris® business class.
Beginning January 1, 2020, you’ll only be able to visit most of our partner lounges if you’re traveling in United Polaris® business class. Use the tool below to see where these lounges are located and if you can visit them on an upcoming trip.
This was first reported on FlyerTalk. You can see this notice posted on the United Club and lounge page here. It affects partner lounges, which can be found in that same page under the “Partner lounges” tab. Each individual lounge will also have an eligibility warning noting “United Polaris® business class customer” only.
Conclusion
This is bad news for some airports where these lounges could be the only option. Keep in mind that this does not affect Star Alliance lounges.
