WOW Air Sale, 50% Off Select Routes

WOW Air Sale, 50% Off Select Routes

WOW Air has another sale with some good prices for travel to ANY of their destinations from several US airports.  Let’s check the details of the offer.

The Offer

Book a little winter getaway and get 50% off flights to all destinations. Just enter the WOWXMAS promo code.

You can book directly on the promo page on the Wow website.

Key Terms

  • To redeem the discount you need to book a round-trip flight from Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Pittsburgh, St. Louis or Washington D.C. before 11:59 PM (GMT) December 16th, 2018.
  • Travel period is December 12th, 2018 – March 31st, 2019. The discount applies to selected flights in the travel period and is subject to availability.

Fees

WOW’s base fares are usually unbelievable but prepare yourself to pay for any extras and don’t assume anything will be free. WOW Air charges for almost everything, so make sure you go over their list of fees before booking. You’re only allowed a free carry-on item (17x13x10 in./22 lbs), which is very very small. You’ll have to pay for a carry-on bag and checked luggage.

Seat assignment will also cost you, $9.99-$10.99. Check out the full list of fees and charges here.

Conclusion

WOW is a budget airline so this sale is not for everyone. The 50% discount only applies to base fares, so will not really get you 50% off the total price. But it should yield some good deals. Make sure to maximize your credit card rewards by using a card with a travel bonus category. Amex Platinum offers 5x MR on airfare or Chase Sapphire Reserve for 3x UR on travel.

  1. 50% off – and a 50% chance that they are still in business on the date of the flight?
Given their financial situation, I will pass…
Maybe a deal for a flight xlose-in, paid with credit card, so you can claim your money back in case of insolvency….
