Wyndham Rewards Brings Back Its Status Match Offer

Wyndham Rewards is once again offering a status match promotion, giving members the opportunity to enjoy the perks of Gold, Platinum, or Diamond for three months. If you have status with another program then there’s a good chance that you will be able to match to either Platinum or Diamond. You also have the option to maintain your status by  completing required stays within that period. Let’s see the details.

Each Wyndham Rewards Gold, Platinum and Diamond Member Level obtained through this offer will expire 90 days after the date of the applicable Member’s Status Match verification email. But you can keep your status with the following qualifications:

  • Gold: After you’re matched, stay 1 qualifying night in 90 days to keep your status.
  • Platinum: After you’re matched, stay 4 qualifying nights in 90 days to keep your status.
  • Diamond: After you’re matched, stay 10 qualifying nights in 90 days to keep your status.

Once you complete the Qualifying Nights within the period, your status will remain in effect through December 31 of the calendar year following the calendar year in which such Qualifying Nights were completed.

Conclusion

This is a generous promotion for those looking for Wyndham Rewards elite status. You can earn Wyndham Diamond by matching Marriott Gold or Hilton Gold. However, you only get Wyndham Rewards status for 90 days, and you need to complete stays within that period to extend it through the end of next year.

One reason why many people chase Wyndham status is so they can match to Caesars Rewards. But the terms now state that you can only do so with “earned” Wyndham Rewards status. So most likely you will not be able to match. It would be a nice surprise if it actually works.

  1. I would be curious how they know if the status is earned or matched. I am trying to get wyndham diamond the hard way (30 nights to go this year) so that I can status match to ceasars. I’m curious if I status match my Hilton diamond for Wyndham diamond and then earn the 10 nights in 90 days, is that considered earning diamond, or do you still have to stay the full 40 nights in a year to be able to status match to ceasars?
