It is earnings seasons which means we get to hear from gaming CEOs about how business is and where they are going in the future. This week we heard from Wynn Resorts including details of their huge international expansion plans, their under construction resort in UAE and why a Vegas expansion is a matter of “when” and not “if”.


In other news it was residency week as two huge new residencies are rumored or announced plus the extension of another popular one. We also discuss management layoffs at Rio, NYNY’s upgraded marquee, casino indoor waterparks, a new Station Casinos tavern brand, MGM’s mastercard offer and how to save 20% at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

  1. Was just at the Rio this past weekend, for the Star Trek Convention. Things were so-so, work being done on the casino floor, lack of water fountains, filthy restrooms in the convention area and very high food prices. My room in the masquerade tower had plumbing issues with both sinks. Don’t think the Rio was prepared enough for the big Trek crowd.
