Reel Summer
Update: Apparently people are finding more Reel Summer codes for various lengths of stay. They are not stackable with each other so make sure to register for the best one according to your plans. Milepoint has a thread with a list of the codes.
Over the past few weeks Hyatt, Hilton & SPG have announced their summer promotions. Yesterday, IHG released the details of their Reel Summer Promotion. Just like the promotions from the other brands, it isn’t very good. (I want another Big Win!)
For every 3 nights you stay in any of IHG’s 4,700 properties worldwide between May 15, 2014 & September 2, 2014, they will award 5,000 bonus points. You must register for this promotion ahead of time as IHG won’t give the bonus retroactively.
Make sure to look for an email from IHG Rewards if you want a link hard coded to your Rewards Club number. If not, then login, go to this page and type in the promo code 7093 to register.
Analysis
If you already have plans to stay at an IHG property, then this is another way to earn more points. The good thing is that this promotion stacks with the many other ones that are available, so you can usually earn a lot of points for staying at their properties. Also, IHG doesn’t have a long list of excluded properties like Hilton, so at least you will get the bonus wherever you stay.
As always, I recommend registering for the promotion whether or not you think that you will be staying in IHG properties during the promotional period. Plans change and you may not remember to register later!
