120K Bonus for Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Business Card

Update: Referral links were showing a later expiration date of September 4, 2023. But even now that the deadline has passed, the offer is still showing through referrals.

If you are looking to add more points to your Rapid Rewards account, or earn the Companion Pass, then check out this new offer for the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card. You can now earn a bonus of up to 120,000 points.

But, while the bonus is now doubled, the spending requirement to earn it all is $15,000. That’s a considerable amount of spending, but it gives you the option of earning the Companion pass with just one card. Let’s see the details.

The Offer

  • Earn up to 120,000 Rapid Rewards points:
    • Earn 60,000 points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from your account opening.
    • Plus, earn an additional 60,000 points after you spend $15,000 on purchases in the first 9 months.
  • $99 Annual Fee
  • Offer ends 8/28/23.

Card Highlights

  • Earn:
    • 3x points per  $1 spent on Southwest Airlines® purchases.
    • 2x points per $1 spent on Rapid Rewards hotel/car rental partners
    • 2x points per $1 spent on local transit and commuting, including rideshare
  • 6,000 anniversary bonus points, 25% back on in-flight purchases & 2 Early Bird check-ins each year
  • Unlimited TQP earning toward A-List status: 1,500 TQPs for every $10,000 spent each year
  • Benefits cover lost luggage, baggage delay, extended warranty & purchase protection

Conclusion

120,000 points is a huge welcome bonus, but when you look at the details it is not as exciting. The first part of the offer for 60,000 points is the same as the previous bonus. But now you also have the opportunity to earn another 60,000 points after spending a total of $15,000 in nine months.

That means that once you complete the spending you will have earned a total of 135,000 Rapid Rewards, which is enough to get you the Southwest Companion Pass.

But, while this offer makes it easy to earn the Companion Pass with just one card, you can actually achieve the same result with two cards and less spending. You can just do the first part of the offer, and then get another Southwest business or consumer credit card.

If you plan to apply, you should also check referral links, which should show the same offer. The only difference is the expiration date, which is 9/4/2023.

  1. More than likely if you get approved for the card on the 4th, your statement closing date will be the 3rd. So if you call on December 2nd, and ask Chase to make your statement closing date to the 1st. does that mean your December statement won’t close until 01/01? Thus you’ll receive your bonus in 2024?
