Amex Delta Reserve Personal & Business Credit Card Review

15% Awards Discount for Delta Reserve Cardholders

The American Express Delta Reserve was briefly showing yesterday a new benefit called ‘TakeOff 15’. This is no longer showing on the card page, but I’d assume that this is a new benefit that we could see soon. Cardholders would get a 15% discount on SkyMiles awards.

This benefit is no longer showing now, and it is not (and was never) live for cardholders. But based on screenshots captured by ThriftyTraveler, this is how this benefit would work:

  1. Visit Delta.com or the Fly Delta app and log in to your Delta SkyMiles account
  2. Choose “Shop with Miles” when searching for Delta flights for your itinerary
  3. The 15% miles discount will automatically be reflected.

Discount will not apply to partner operated flights or to taxes and fees.

Conclusion

While this might not be a reason to get the card or even hold onto long term, it is a nice discount. American Express has not made any public announcements about this new benefit, but I’d assume that it is in the works. I’m not sure if this will be exclusive to the Delta Reserve card, or also extended to the business version and possibly other cardholders as well.
