This is not working with one point and the gift card for payment. It wants me to use all of my discover it points first. When I change it to .01 it switches the payment method to the discover card. Any idea how to make this work?
Try making the Discover card your preferred method of payment and see if that fixes it.
The Amazon rep told me that my gift card balance needed to be $199.99 in order to make it work. I did not think having a gift card balance greater than the amount due mattered but it does. Once I added a 50.01 gift card to the cart, I was able to use .01 in Discover rewards then use my Amazon gift card to pay the rest. Lesson learned (I did not subtract $50.01 when I made the initial Amazon gift card purchase and I did not think it would matter but it does).
I have heard of people getting around that by making the Discover or MR earning card their preferred card.
Any idea why I am never eligible for any of these offers? I am a frequent Amazon shopper and Prime member. Is there a trick I don’t know about?
Do you have the particular cards (Discover and Amex) already on your Amazon account and the pay with points options set up?
