2013 was a pretty amazing year of travel for me. Â Jasmine, Shawn Reece and I started the year with a back to back cruise followed by an extended backpacking trip through Central and Eastern Europe that took nearly three months. Â Later in the year I was able to take a trip to some of my favorite places in Asia, cruise down North America’s Pacific Coast, take a mileage run to South America and even visit Hawaii twice. Â All together I visited 30 countries including 21 new ones!
As I look back, I am still amazed by it. Â The year has most definitely had highs and lows, but I reaffirmed my love of travel. Â A few years ago I had set out a goal of visiting one country for every year of my age. Â This year I hit 53 countries visited at the age of 31. Â I now look at it all differently. Â Instead of constraining my goal for countries or places visited, I will simply go to places that inspire me and the list is sure to grow quicker than ever.
While I am not sure what 2014 will bring, right now we have a two week trip to Japan and other countries in Asia planned for April. Â Most of my travel is booked at the last minute when something I read or a last minute deal strikes me eye. Â Hopefully the website will continue to grow and I will be able to keep my travel momentum going.
To close, I want to send my thanks to each and everyone who reads this site. Â The traffic has tripled in the past couple of months and my sincere hope is that a mix of budget travel advice, travel hacking strategies and an occasional heart felt inspired post will keep you recommending us and coming back to the site.
If you every have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact me. Â I love to help others or simply to hear feedback from my readers. Â Happy New Year and Mahalo from Hawaii.
