Amex Gives Up to $100 Annual Fee Credit to Some Delta Cardholders
American Express has been adding new benefits to its credit cards and also giving out credits to those who renew through the end of the year. We saw these appreciation credits for several business cards, and now some personal Delta cardholders seeing these credits at well.
Delta Anniversary Credits
Here are the credits I have seen so far:
- Delta Reserve – $100 statement credit
- Delta Platinum – $50 statement credit
Here’s the text of the email for the Delta Reserve Card:
Thank you for your continued Card Membership – to get your next membership year off to a rewarding start, you are eligible to receive a $100 one-time statement credit after Card renewal. $100 Statement Credit You will be eligible to receive a one-time $100 statement credit after Card renewal. the statement credit will be applied to the eligible card account within 8-12 weeks of the account renewal month. This statement credit is limited to basic (not Additional) Card Members only. Offer is non-transferable. If the eligible Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card is cancelled, or you have downgraded or upgraded your Card up to 45 days after the first day of your renewal month, you will not receive the one-time $100 statement credit. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time.
Conclusion
These credits will probably be issued to Delta cardholders that have their anniversary date sometime between now and the end of the year. Even if you didn’t receive en email and your annual fee is coming up, I think you should qualify. Reach out to American Express to confirm though.
These credits are just a small portion of the annual fees. The Amex Delta Platinum card has a $250 annual fee and the Amex Delta Reserve card has a $550 annual fee. And American Express is giving you $50 and $100 respectively.
Let us know if you have received similar offers about other Amex cards.

Hands up I got my $100 Delta reserve appreciation credit today!!
I have a business Delta Reserve card, and my credit was $125! I’ve already hit my 4 MQM spend bonuses this year and was considering downgrading since I’ve already maxed my bonuses. I’ll keep it though – thanks Delta and Amex!
Received the email, as well. In addition to the $100 credit (better than nothing, barely) they are increasing grocery shopping to 4x which is worth while for us since we’re stuck at home and can’t going out to eat like we usually do. Trust us, we only have a kitchen is because it came with the house. So if we have to grocery shop, we now get 4 miles instead of 1…since we’re using our Reserve card anyway, the 4x may be a better value to us than the $100 credit is, FWIW!
I got the $100 for my delta reserve card. I was going to call to fake cancel to see about a retention offer, but I’m happy with the $100 and still plan on making he bonus spend, so I’ll take it.
