Days 238-239 Friday-Saturday December 14-15, 2007 – Queenstown, Arrowtown & Te Anau New Zealand
Queenstown had quite a few more things going for it than Wanaka. To start off, the Queenstown holiday park was much nicer than its counterpart in Wanaka. The Queenstown park felt so much more comfortable and when you live on the road that makes a huge difference. In addition to our accommodation being nice and comfy, Shawn Reece found a few little friends to play with in the park. He spent much of the morning on Friday playing with them in the playground.
Given the weather of the past week, we were very grateful that the sun was out and shining. Around 1pm we decided to take advantage of it and headed out to the gondola/cable car ride in town. The Queenstown Gondola is very similar to the one in Rotorua that we enjoyed while visiting the North Island. After a ten minute drive into town, we parked and prepared for our steep journey high above Queenstown. Oddly enough, while walking to the entrance, we passed a pair of miniature golf courses and a cemetery!
