Aeromexico Adds New Flights to Europe and Asia
Mexican airline Aeromexico has announced a big expansion, adding flights to Europe restarting a route to Asia.
Aeromexico, Mexico’s flag carrier, said on Monday that it will begin service from Mexico City to Rome and increase its daily frequencies to Madrid.
Flight to Rome will start on March 25 with three weekly flights and expanding to five by June 1. Flights to Madrid from the major Mexican cities of Monterrey and Guadalajara will increase from three to five beginning March 27, with daily flights from June 1.
These additions will bring the total number of flights to Europe to 54 weekly nonstops during the peak summer season, an increase of about 20%. That includes popular destinations such as Madrid, London, Amsterdam, Paris and now Rome.
The airline will also reboot its service to Tokyo, Reuters reports. The carrier said it will begin flying daily to Japan’s capital on March 25, after having discontinued the route three years ago.
Aeromexico will have more than 100 domestic and international routes once the new additions launch in March of 2023. Currently, Aeromexico flies to the U.S, Canada, Central America, South America, Asia and Europe. The airline uses Boeing 787 and 737 jet airliners and Embraer 190 models.
