Here are some of the key features of the Amazon Business Prime American Express card:

  • 5% back or 90 day terms on U.S. purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon.com, AWS and Whole Foods with an eligible Prime membership
  • 2% back at U.S. restaurants, U.S. gas stations and on wireless telephone services
  • 1% back on everything else
  • No annual fee

Analysis

When this card launched recently the bonus was $125. We also saw a $150 offer later on. So this new bonus is much better. For those with a lot of business spending and a Prime account, this is a card that is definitely worth looking closely at. I know Amazon gift cards can often be sourced in places paying 5X with other cards, but the simplicity of earning 5% back or giving yourself 90 days to pay the card back is definitely appealing.

  1. Does this count against 5/24 and does it take an AMEX slot? Currently have 5 and would have to close a card if it does…

    • Shouldn’t count against 5/24 since it is a business card but it will take up an Amex card since it isn’t a charge card.

  2. I already have 5% from the store card and Chase Prime card. Would this card get AMEX offers? Otherwise it seems like a weak offering.
