One Year of Amazon Prime $67

In celebration of Transparent recently winning 5 Emmy awards, today Amazon is offering their Prime service for $67 per year to new members. (Normal price $99.) Here is how they put it:

Today from 12:00 a.m., ET, through 11:59 p.m., PT, new members can join Amazon Prime for $67 for the first year and enjoy member-only benefits and content, including our Emmy Award-winning series, Transparent. Although the price in your cart will show $99, the promotion discount will be applied at checkout. You will be charged when you place your order.

Purchasing Prime

You can purchase the 1 year membership for $67 here. You may also be able to go through Giving Assistant for 5% more off. I am not sure if this deal is eligible for cashback through Giving Assistant or not.

  1. Got it for $67 – $25 of a GC I already loaded onto my account earlier. Total comes out $42.

My Prime sub ended in March, to my surprise it still allow me to get the discount. Technically I’m not a “NEW” customer anymore.

Funny side note, it was trying to charge me $5.57 tax, but I reload the cart again, tax disappear second time. I paid with a Discover Card, so I should get at least 5% back (or even 10%) 🙂

  2. I just confirmed with Amazon (866) 216-1072 that this $67 offer is supposed to be for NEW Prime Subscribers only as I wanted to extended my Prime membership which I received one year Prime free along with cash bonus when I opened Amex CC last January/Feb. Prior to that I had Free Prime as College student for 6 mos. BUT…Amazon will allow you to cancel your current subscription now and purchase a NEW Prime subscription for $67 rather than $99. Therefore, #1. If your current subscription is close to expiring this is a good deal or #2. If your current subscription is less than 3 months old you can get a FULL refund and then purchase this promo for a full one year, I love my Prime not only for 2 day Free delivery, but for FREE movies that you get, mine’s on TiVo. I think Amazon Instant Video/Movies/TV Shows are better than Netflix. Prime also has (#?) free books if you have a kindle, but I’m strictly Apple and it won’t work even if you download the kindle app on your Apple device.

  3. Looks like this time around amazon doesn’t allow you to “gift” a membership at the discounted price. Only for new sign ups
