American Express Green Card $100 LoungeBuddy Credit Ending
American Express is making an important change to the Green Card. As of January 13, 2025, the $100 LoungeBuddy Credit benefit will no longer be available.
Unlike other cards that provide lounge access, the American Express Green Card gives you up to $100 in statement credits per calendar year when you use the card to purchase lounge access through LoungeBuddy.
With LoungeBuddy you pay per lounge visit, and prices vary. Most lounges will cost around $40 to $50 per visit. You can find lounges and compare prices here.
If you have the American Express Green Card, then you have to use up this year’s credit by January 13. This same date seems to apply to existing and new cardholders that apply now through January 13.
$100 LoungeBuddy Credit
You can earn up to $100 in statement credits per calendar year when you use the American Express Green Card® to purchase airport lounge access directly from LoungeBuddy through the LoungeBuddy website.
This benefit is only available for the American Express Green Card®. Traditional Green Cards and Senior Green Cards are not eligible.
Purchases by both the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on the Card Account are eligible for statement credits. However, the total amount of statement credits for eligible purchases will not exceed $100 on the Card Account per calendar year.

That credit was always an illusion anyway, at least for me. I made multiple attempts to use it, domestic and overseas, and never could make it work. Either no participating lounges in the airports I was visiting, or no passes available to purchase when needed to due to overcrowding or other reasons. Hopefully it will be replaced with a benefit that is actually useful.
And to clarify, I also have the Amex Platinum, so only tried the Lounge Buddy credit when there were no Amex Platinum lounge options available (such as Priority Pass). Maybe for folks without Priority Pass it would have more value.
