Amex Business Platinum Could Soon Lose Dell Benefit

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express is a premium business card that comes with many benefits. While the long list of benefits yields comparisons to a coupon book, maximizing these credits is a good way to justify the annual fee.

But now there’s been a change in the terms of three benefits, which are Dell, Adobe and Indeed. The terms indicate that these purchases are eligible for statement credits through 12/31/24. The addition of the end date suggests that these benefits might be going away, or at least changing somehow. They could be replaced, or restructured, or maybe American Express decides to extend them beyond that date.

Here are the new terms that you can find on The Business Platinum Card® from American Express:

Conclusion

Maximizing credit card benefits is usually a good way to offset the annual fee, especially when we are talking about the The Business Platinum Card® that costs $695 per year.

The most valuable benefit out of the three that might be ending is probably Dell. You can currently get up to $200 in statement credits between January and June and up to $200 in statement credits between July and December for a total of $400 per calendar year in statement credits for Dell purchases.

You also get up to $150 per calendar year in statement credits for Adobe purchases and up to $90 in statement credits per quarter for a total of $360 per year for Indeed.

Let us know if you have been using these credits, and what changes you expect to happen starting next next year.

  1. This may have some impact since anyone who gets the business card now would be eligible for 3 Dell Credits. Two in 2024 and one in 2025 before the annual fee is up.

  2. Does this change apply to existing card holders? Or is this for new applications? I haven’t received any notices about this in my Biz Platinum

  3. The Adobe credit was good when a year sub for Acrobat was $165. After the price hike it’s unnecessary for individuals. And of course I max the Dell credit every year.
